Bad Bevensen - a source of well-being

Bad Bevensen’s year-round visitor magnet is the Iodine-saline thermal spring with its 1,000 m² iodine-saline outdoor pool (32°C), vitality pool (32°C) and health pool (35°C). Visitors to the 1,000 m² modern Spa & Vitality Centre at the thermal spring can relax in bathing tubs, sand baths and with any of a number of wellness applications - the choice ranges from floating in a natural, 24% magnesium-saline solution to Lomi Lomi massages to a rasul bath with healing clay. The generous sauna area features four saunas, two sanariums, two steam rooms and a SALINE&SALT World. A saline relaxation area, a generous sun terrace and the saline experience room with a panoramic view of the spa park, and the SALT World with a salt sauna, a salt lounge with small graduation houses, a cosy fireplace corner and a small salt garden round off the programme for wellness visitors.

 

More than 60 THERMEplus hosts in Bad Bevensen include the entrance fee to the iodine-saline thermal spring in the accommodation cost. There are numerous other hotels, wellness hotels, guest houses and holiday apartments.

Activities

You will find ideal conditions for an active holiday in natural surroundings all around Bad Bevensen. Forests, small heath areas, the Ilmenau valley and the Elbe side channel form the perfect backdrop for extensive cycling, hiking or Nordic Walking tours. Numerous signposted cycle paths and circular routes in and around Bad Bevensen invite you to discover the gently undulating landscape by bicycle or e-bike. Around 145 kilometres are signposted for Nordic Walking and hiking. You can also explore the surroundings from a different, slightly wetter perspective during a canoe tour on the River Ilmenau. Golfers get their money’s worth in Secklendorf, just under 3 kilometres down the road: nearly one half of the golf course’s 18 fairways (Par 72) lead through high forests. 

Those who want to do something good for body and soul will find what they seek in Lachyoga, Qigong, relaxation sessions with singing bowls or walks with lamas. A varied events programme rounds off your holiday. The choices range from guided tours and bus excursions to concerts, theatre and comedy performances in the modern spa building to annual concerts at Medingen Cloister.



Spa Park

The Spa Park in Bad Bevensen is an ideal setting for a stroll after a visit to the thermal spring, a concert in the spa building or simply just for fun. Stroll past magnificent flowerbeds in full bloom, enjoy the rich green of the lawns and take a break on one of the benches beneath the large timber pergola or on the promenade. The sun trap and the new spa building offer a space with guaranteed protected from wind and weather even on cold days and during the winter. All of the facilities are barrier-free and accessible to wheelchair and rollator users - the spa building has even received an award for its accessibility.



Shopping
This year, Bad Bevensen received the “1a Shopping Town” award for the fourth time.Around 50 shops extend their opening times from May to October to include the hours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. There are also additional events during these months:

• 3rd Sunday of the month: Antique & Flea Market
