Dear guests and visitors, welcome to Winsen (Aller).

Winsen (Aller) is one of the most beautiful places in Lueneburg Heath and is close to the old ducal town Celle. Modern, open-minded and yet peaceful and dreamy, this heath town with its 7 districts and decades of experience in the tourism sector is definitely worth a visit.

Those who wish to take a step back from the hectic of everyday life and are seeking relaxation will find ideal conditions here. Forests touching the outskirts of the town, heath lands, charming, entwined creeks, heather moorlands with their unique flora and a landscape dotted with lakes call for some easy hiking and relaxation. Refined hospitality and good accommodation are a matter of course for us, as well as a large variety of culinary specialities for gourmets.

Even though relaxing peace and quiet has priority in our range of offers, there are still plenty of opportunities for diversion and activities for our guests. All visitors can shape their holiday or short stay according to individual taste. Friendly hosts are always happy to advise.

Here some examples for possible activities:

Picturesque, well-marked trails are ideal for hiking trips in the nearer or wider surrounding areas.

Winsen (Aller) has sports activities for everyone. Hiking is contemplative: there is a lot to discover on over 170 km of well-signposted hiking trails.

Or how about a cycling tour? There you go – well developed, flat paths through forests, meadows and heath lands make cycling a very pleasurable experience.

Lake Huetten (Huettensee) near Meissendorf, the largest lake landscape on Lueneburg Heath, visitors can glide over the waves on a surfboard or captain a sailing boat.

Bathing, swimming, fishing, water treading, tennis or water skiing, bowling or crazy golf offer active leisure opportunities. Horse riding facilities provide riders with excellent possibilities to practise their sport.

Nature is everywhere in and around Winsen (Aller). The Heath rivers Oertze and Meisse originate here. The natural reserve area =
Meissendorfer Teiche/Bannetzer Moor  is home to countless species of birds. Circular hiking trails with many lookout towers provide an intensive insight into the untouched flora and bird life. Information is provided to visitors at the former estate „Teichgut Sunder“with its nature conservation seminar. Anybody can take part in a guided natural history tour. The recently completed forest nature trail is interesting.

In the plains of the river Aller, the White Stork can be observed looking for food. There is nothing better than experiencing nature in its pristine form. Experience for all the senses – variety in landscape, constantly changing impressions, this is Winsen (Aller).

One brochure is simply not enough to describe all its beauty. Spring, summer, autumn and winter all have their own unique charm. There is nothing better than experiencing this landscape. By horse carriage through the moor or by boat on the Aller. Inviting places welcome you to rest.

It goes without saying that one can also celebrate in Winsen (Aller). The “Heideblütenfest” (The heather flower festival) and the “Schützenfest” (marksmen’s fair) are traditions where guests are more than welcome to join in.

Striking up a casual conversation with the locals, the „Heidjer“ is easy and a great way to learn new facts about the past and the present.
