Experience real nature in our beautiful Lüneburg Heath. Located just outside Hamburg, the Heath community of Handeloh, the gateway to Lüneburg Heath, offers everything a cyclist, horse and nature lover expects. Surrounded by erratic boulder walls under gnarled oak trees, you can still experience half-timbered houses in typical Lower Saxony style.

The community of Handeloh is divided into Handeloh, Höckel, Inzmühlen, and Wörme.

Between the rivers Seeve and Este, the species and variety of animals and plants are explained to our visitors. With its second stage from Buchholz to Handeloh the Heidschnucken Path was named the "most beautiful hiking trail in Germany 2014". So, you can walk to Handeloh on the most beautiful section of Germany.

Play miniature golf on one of Germany's most beautiful courses. A walk in Büsenbachtal Nature Reserve with its old juniper stands is always worthwhile.

After your many activities, enjoy the typical dishes of the Heath region, which our restaurants like to serve you. Connoisseurs know that Handeloh is a popular destination in every season - not just for short breaks.

Accommodation is provided by a number of holiday apartments, private guesthouses, taverns, and a hotel.

Further questions about accommodation or events in and around Handeloh and the Heidschnucken Path can be obtained from our office in Handeloh town hall.
