Amelinghausen: Queens Path(11 km circular path)

Walk in the footsteps of the heather queens around the heathland village of Amelinghausen.

On the 11 kilometre long circular walk you walk through Kronsbergheide with the Heidschnucken stall. Every year in August, the heathen queen of Amelinghausen is chosen here in Kronsbergheide and crowned with a heather crown.

From Kronsbergheide the path leads to the large Lopausee with Lopaupark. A 2.2 km circular path leads around the lake. The tour is a nice tip for an evening walk when the sun slowly sets over the lake.

By the lake there is a jetty where you can rent pedal boats for a pedal boat ride on Lopausee.

You will not only see Lopausee on this 11 kilometre long circular walk but you will cross also the small heath river Lopau and the heath river Luhe.

Note:

The "Queens Path" has stamp boxes. In the stamp boxes you can discover exciting legends, fairy tales, and information about Lüneburg Heath. Collect the stamps in the Amelinghausener Stepelpass. When you have all the stamps the stamp passport, you can get an Amelinghausen Heath certificate.
