Aller cycle path: the best river experience by bike
The premium bike path on Lüneburg Heath!
Experience a river bike tour
The Aller cycle path from Rethem in the Aller-Leine valley to Nienhof / Langlingen in the Celle district is the first premium cycle path on Lueneburg Heath.
Not every cycle path can call itself "Premium". It must first meet special criteria:
* Safe riding conditions
* Good / solid surface
* Taxi shuttle for arrival and departure and in case of bicycle breakdowns
* Easy to ride without an MTB / trekking bike
* Suitable for luggage racks
* Landscape-oriented routing
* Gastronomy / Hotel industry along the way
* Significant cultural offers along the way
Rethem / Aller - Ahlden - Schwarmstedt - Wietze - Südwinsen / Winsen - Oldau - Hambuehren - Celle - Wienhausen - Langlingen / Nienhof
Total length: 94 km
• Relaxed Tour: 3 daily stages of 28 km, 26 km, 40 km
• Sports Tour: 2 daily stages à 47 km
The cycle route runs mostly on dedicated cycle paths away from traffic. The tour is extremely family friendly thanks to the flat terrain and safe handling with good surface conditions.
The Aller cycle path is signposted throughout with its own logo.
Schwarmstedt: connection to the Heidebahn Line (Hanover-Soltau-Buchholz / Nordheide).
Celle: connection to the Metronom Line (Hamburg-Uelzen-Hanover).
The Aller is often referred to as the river of 100 springs. In many sections, the Aller flows through a natural landscape across meadows and through forests, small settlements and dreamy villages. Be inspired by the natural beauty of this unique river landscape on your bike ride along the Aller. Windmills, historic castles, towns, villages and a former Cistercian monastery are all waiting to be "discovered" en route.
