Stage length: 21 km

The starting point for your hike along Pastor Bode Path is the more than 1,000-year-old salt and Hanseatic town of Lüneburg.

The Pastor Bode Path begins at St. Michael's Church, in the heart of Lüneburg's Old Town. The Bode family once lived here. High up on the Kalkberg. There is a fantastic view of the salt and Hanseatic city of Lüneburg with its magnificent buildings of North German brick Gothic. Secludedly and calmly walk in the footsteps of the Heath Pastor along Hasenburg Bach, through Böhmsholz, over the Hamberg, and through the Luhetal to Salzhausen. Varied and heartening, the trail leads past birches and beech trees, meadows and fields.

In Salzhausen you will find another sign of the Heath Pastor. Here is still the operating cooperative hospital, in whose founding in 1898 Wilhelm Bode was instrumental.
