The stage from Weesen via Mueden (Oertze) and Fassberg to Altensalzkoth means "pure heath!" You can experience an impressive village atmosphere at the historic centre of Mueden (Oertze) with its centuries-old farmhouses and the St. Laurentiuskirche church.

We recommend a visit to the memorial site in Fassberg commemorating the airlifts to Berlin. From Fassberg the tour continues through the small heathland village of Schmarbeck to the juniper forest and along the most beautiful heathland of Suedheide nature park to Altensalzkoth.

The landscape from Altensalzkoth to Eschede looks very Scandinavian. The tour takes you through pine forests and along the Aschauteiche. In Eschede, you can visit the Flohrmühle and Markmann's toy shop. From Eschede the tour continues to Cloister Wienhausen via Lachendorf and Broeckel.

TIP 3:

Founded around 1230, the former Cistercian Cloister Wienhausen is a jewel of North German redbrick Gothic timber-framed architecture. With its incomparable abundance of remaining medieval works of art, the Gothic chests and cupboards, the numerous written sources in the archive and the famous and valuable tapestries from the 14th and 15th centuries, Cloister Wienhausen is today the most famous of the six cloisters on Lueneburg Heath.

After a visit to the monastery, the tour follows the Aller cycle path back to Celle.
