Kilometres in this stage: approx. 13 km

The
next stage leads from the hustle and bustle of the city of Bergen out into the
Feldmark to two small woodlands, one of which has an impressive field with burial mounds that are more than 4,000 years old. An information board tells
you about the location of the former pilgrimage church near Wohlde. At
Siddernhausen you can view a large stone grave from prehistoric times next to the
wayside.

Finally,
the path leads past the cemetery at the entrance to Hermannsburg, where the
grave of missionary founder Ludwig Harms also stands. It is located a few
meters from the main entrance of the cemetery chapel on the left-hand side.
Above the door of the chapel is the saying from the Gospel of John, chap. 17,
verse 3, which changed the life of Ludwig Harms and finally led him to set up
the mission in Hermannsburg.

The
goal of this stage is to reach the Ludwig Harms House on Harmsstrasse, which
used to be the first mission house. If you like, you can visit the permanent
exhibition on the mission, browse through the bookstore with its large
selection of Christian literature or visit the churches of Hermannsburg with
their special history.
