Every two years, the joint municipality of Flotwedel in the southern Lüneburg Heath is the scene of an extraordinary art festival. On the third weekend after Whitsun the FlotART invites you to a cheerful and creative country outing under the motto "village meets art".

The Lachte meanders over 33 km through wild, romantic and densely wooded areas until it flows into the Aller. Its source is Lüsche in the Celle region. On the way it flows through the villages Steinhorst, Jarnsen and Lachendorf.
