Aller cycle path, stage 4
From Celle the bike tour takes you to Wienhausen where another cultural highlight awaits: the world-famous Cloister Wienhausen. The destination of today's stage is Langlingen with its village museum and a simply divine village church.
Built in the 13th century, the Cistercian Cloister Wienhausen is of particular importance to the Celle region. It is unique in North Germany as a building complex of north German redbrick Gothic with art treasures from the 13th to the 16th century.
After visiting the cloister, you will cycle via Oppershausen and Offensen to Langlingen , your final destination. Take some time at the end of the tour to explore the village museum, the manor house and the village church of Langlingen.
The imposing sight of a ceiling full of angels was discovered and revealed inside the village church of Langlingen during renovations to the ceiling carried out in 1994 .
The village museum impressively conveys aspects of agricultural life as it was before the turn of the century with its authentically furnished living rooms and bedrooms.
