Guided panoramic hike with meetings of the herds of Heidschnucken through the Misselhorn Heath

Guided hike in the nature park Südheide with certified guides on the Heidschnuckenweg through the Misselhorner Heide with panoramic views and exciting nature discoveries and driving in the herds of Heidschnucken.

This hike through the hilly Misselhorner Heide and the charming Tiefental near Hermannsburg is one of the most beautiful parts of the Heidschnuckenweg. The hiking tour through the nature reserve of the Nature Park Südheide offers new panoramic views of the multi-faceted landscape: wide heathland areas, which especially at the time of the heather blossoming dip the land into a purple sea of colours; gnarled juniper bushes, which grow scattered in the heath, the deep surrounding pine forest and white birches. An impressive play of colours, a feast for every nature lover. Rediscovering nature from very different perspectives is something very special.

On this hike, our certified hiking guides will give you insights into the formation of the landscape after the Ice Age and the development of the Lüneburg Heath through the economy of man. After all, the Lüneburger Heide is a historical cultural landscape. They will show you with a great deal of expertise what traces the different eras have left behind.

Discover nature together: a quiet plucking on the way announces the working herd of heather snows. The frugal animals are important helpers in landscape conservation in the nature reserve. During this meeting there will be time for a conversation with the shepherdess, Barbara Morina Braun, about the life of the shepherds yesterday and today as well as for a selfie with the heather snuke. Among Heide-guests this meeting with our four-legged landscape keepers is a special highlight.

The hiking trail with its varied route has a lot to offer from the very special flora and fauna of the nature park. You can discover magically bluish shining dung beetles, lichens, numerous mosses and from time to time a cross viper in the Besenheide. Enjoy the unique landscape, the peace and the demonstrably good air with like-minded people.

Dogs can be taken on a leash.
